Essential Functions:

Makes patient care assignments according to staff capabilities and patient needs and makes alterations in nursing assignments as necessary.

Focuses on increasing patient satisfaction by enhancing throughput, hourly rounds, utilizing tactics in the ICARE model and holding subordinates accountable to the same standard.
4.
Manages staff time effectively by assigning meal breaks and unit tasks.
5.
Seeks additional staff for the replacement for nursing staff call-ins or increases in acuity through collaboration with staffing office.
6.
Establishes communication and rapport with physicians to include physician rounding.
7.
Resolves problems on a shift-to-shift basis with appropriate documentation and follow-up.

Communicates all unusual situations and problems up the chain of communication.

Assists in orientation of new employees.
11.
Counsels and documents appropriate and inappropriate behavior of employees.
12.
Assists in the education and enforcement of facility policies and Core Measure Initiatives.
13.
Demonstrates an advanced level of clinical skills and the ability to support others to achieve the delivery of quality care.
14.
Practices, develops and endorses customer service skills in relationships with internal and external customers.
15.
Serves as the patient and family advocate with respect to the patient's rights.

Assists in the protection of PHI and complies with HIPPA regulations.

Plans and implements age appropriate patient care and teaching based on a total assessment 18.
Evaluates and documents patient response; monitors and recognizes changes in physiological and psychosocial status; takes appropriate action based on assessment of the patient.

Regular, punctual and dependable attendance.

Qualifications :
EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Unit specific Certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, CPI EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED:
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience required SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
Clinical expertise Exemplary leadership skills Tactful communication skills and the ability to listen, empathize and respond to patient, family, internal and external partners needs Supervision, delegation, conflict management and team building skills.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
