Duties include basic HR functions:
benefits and subsequent yearly renewals, employee performance monitoring and evaluation, new-hire and termination paperwork, ensuring state and federal regulatory compliance, collating and submitting employee hours to third-party payroll processor, and recruiting to fill positions as needed.
Professional, clean office environment.
Focused but relaxed corporate atmosphere - nobody's cracking a whip, but you've got to be disciplined enough to do what needs to be done, when it needs to be done, without someone standing over your shoulder micromanaging you.
Fast-moving small businesses by their nature demand an operational/managerial/procedural svelteness and lightness of foot which runs contrary to what is found in large, plodding institutions laden with bureaucratic/administrative fat.
If your natural predisposition is to take a 1 hour task and stretch it out as long as you can get away with, you're probably not going to be a good fit.
Team synergy is essential - you've gotta be able to click with management so everyone's on the same page with the same mission so the office runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
