The successful applicant will be a core member of our growing Disaster Recovery and Resilience Program in the Southeast Region.
We are seeking an experienced NEPA Specialist that will take a lead collaborative role in managing projects, mentoring staff and providing technical assistance to SWCA clients.
Our Southeast Region offers a unique work environment that also specializes in renewable energy, oil & gas projects, electric transmission, ecological restoration, mining, and land development sectors also.
This role will provide opportunities to help support and expand our National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance expertise in these business lines as well.
This position will report to our Pensacola, Florida office but can be located at any of our Southeast Office locations, and is available to distributed candidates with the ability to travel to project locations as needed.
This requisition can hire at three levels:
Assistant Project Manager; typically, with up to three (3) years of relevant experience and expertise Associate Project Manager; typically, with up to five (5) years of relevant experience and expertise.
Project Manager; typically, with up to seven (7) years of relevant experience and expertise.
What you will accomplishManage and advise clients on project compliance requirements related to National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), with specific focus on HUD environmental Review regulations under 24 CFR Part 58 reviews for Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) programs, and FEMA Public Assistance and Hazard Mitigation Grant Programs under FEMA Directive 108-1.
Partner, supervise and/or prepare documents related to environmental reviews (e.
g.
, Categorical Exclusion, Environmental Assessment, and Environmental Impact Statements) mainly related to disaster recovery and resilience programs.
Knowledge of environmental special studies related to NEPA compliance, environmental compliance plans and monitoring, and other deliverables.
Oversight and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and quality; identify creative or alternative paths for resolution of environmental issues or mitigation constraints.
Supervise project staff and provide mentorship.
Support federal and state agency consultation needs during project process.
Willingness to learn, have fun, and grow into increased management and leadership responsibilities.
Attend and/or present at local, regional and national conferences and forums.
Experience and qualifications for successRequired
Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in biology, botany, environmental science, natural resource management, or other related field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience managing projects, environmental consulting, and/or ecological studies including developing and implementing budgets, schedules, and scopes of work from pre-field tasks to final report preparation.
Previous NEPA compliance experience in disaster recovery programs, including demonstrated experience with FEMA and HUD CDBG-DR environmental regulations.
Prior primary report authorship in a natural resource consulting context for a variety of project types and sizes, regions, and agencies.
Preferred

Master's degree in a related field.

An employee in this Pensacola, FL - based position can expect a salary of:
Assistant Project Manager - between $27.
50/hour and $30.
00/hour; Associate Project Manager - between $30.
50/hour to $39.
00/hour, Project Manager between $70,200/year to $91,000/year.
Pay within these ranges may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law.
Regular-status employees are also eligible for performance bonuses.
