8K a year 5 days ago 5 days ago 5 days ago Job Description The Legal Assistant, under the direction of the senior vice president- general counsel, will assist in the management and coordination of the general counsel's office, including but not limited to, planning/preparing corporate meetings and events, drafting legal documents for attorney review, maintaining the schedules for the general counsel and all in-house counsel, coordinating travel, maintaining all legal filings, preparing, filing and maintaining corporate documentation with state and federal agencies, reviewing and processing legal bills.
This position maintains confidentiality of all protected health and sensitive information.
Responsibilities Effectively and accurately composes and completes required correspondence, memos, and reports, as instructed.
Prepares draft contracts and other legal documents for attorney review, as assigned, using appropriate templates or following instructions provided.
Assists general counsel with reviewing and processing legal bills.
Assist records and reproduction staff with scanning, copying, filing, stamping, and locating files and documents.
Electronically maintains accurate appointment calendars for general counsel and assigned staff.
Effectively coordinates meetings for general counsel and assigned staff (by ensuring all participants are notified, times and places of meetings are adequately scheduled, meals are provided, as instructed, meeting facilities are equipped, as necessary.
Maintains appropriate, courteous and professional communication when interacting with co-workers, executives, members of Board of Directors, and visitors.
Coordinates and assists general counsel and assigned staff with work-related travel plans.
Organizes and maintains up-to-date files and secures confidential information.
Accurately completes work assignments on time.
Assist in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department and organization.
May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
Qualifications Minimum Education High School Diploma or Equivalent Required Technical Diploma/Certificate Paralegal Studies Preferred Minimum Work Experience 3 years Experience as an executive assistant supporting high level corporate executives Required or 3 years Experience as a legal assistant supporting corporate or transactional attorneys Required or 3 years Other relevant experience as a paralegal or corporate support role.
