Summary:
Performs a variety of duties in support of a store s back up storage area and or specific locations located at a distance from a main Exchange.
Loads unloads receives stores and maintains reorder stock control records.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Receives and unloads incoming merchandise deliveries.
Counts and verifies items against appropriate documentation.
Counts stock on scheduled action dates ascertains reorder quantity and prepares merchandise transfer for required merchandise.
Stores merchandise designated stock area and rotates to sales floor on a first-in first-out basis.
Marks and remarks merchandise ensuring that items are marked with the appropriate price and substantiated by related documentation.
Advises supervisor of slow-moving damaged or obsolete merchandise.
Assists customers as a relief cash register operator.
Exercises tact good manners and courtesy when serving and assisting customers.
Is responsible for own cash fund and completion of daily cash report.
Assists supervisor in preparations required for taking periodic inventories.
Participates in and takes inventories of stock on hand as required.
Keeps retail stock areas clean and orderly.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL EFFORTS Performs work on hard surfaces and in work areas that require standing stooping bending and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions may lift and carry merchandise 50 pounds and occasionally over 50 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS Work is performed inside in open areas and in receiving areas which may be cold drafty damp or hot.
Work is performed in close quarters in storage area or bin aisles ramps or on platforms.
There is danger of minor injuries such as cuts scrapes and bruises as well as from falling stock.
Eighteen months experience performing warehousing related duties such as loading unloading receiving storing and maintaining reorder stock control records or similar work that provided the knowledge and skills to perform the duties of the position.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR
Experience:
One year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of experience up to a High School Diploma or GED for 12 months of experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is performed on hard surfaces and in areas that require standing stooping bending and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions may lift and carry merchandise 50 pounds and occasionally over 50 pounds.
